Location Group Names
Location Group Names play a crucial role in organizing and filtering maps. Let's explore how this feature works and how it enhances the representation of various locations on the map.
Example: Restrooms For instance, consider the category of Restrooms in an institution. Within this category, you may have different types of restrooms, such as Women's, Men's, Family, or Gender-neutral restrooms. Each type has its unique icon to display on the map. By categorizing all these restroom types as a "Public Restroom" group (or a similar category), we create a cohesive and efficient system for representing restroom locations.
Example: Escalators Similarly, think about the category of Escalators in the institution. Multiple escalators may be present across various locations and floors. Some escalators go "Up," while others go "Down." By grouping both types as "Escalators," we streamline the representation of escalator locations on the map.
Filters for Enhanced Navigation The beauty of organizing locations into groups becomes evident in the Maps section. Here, users can filter and toggle different groups of icons on or off, simplifying the map's visual representation and enhancing navigation. This dynamic filtering capability allows users to focus on specific location types based on their preferences and needs.
Once a list of groups defined, move onto Location Types.
You will likely bounce back and forth as you decide to create more location types and realize it needs a new grouping category.
